Uromi killings: Kano Governor Makes 2 Key Demands From Edo Governor

The governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf has demanded the public parade of all the suspects arrested in connection with the killing of 16 hunters in Uromi, Esan Local Government Area of Edo State.

Yusuf made this demand when his colleague from Edo State, Monday Okpebholo visited him at the Kano State Government House on Monday.

Speaking during the visit, Yusuf also called for compensation for the families of the hunters who were lynched to death under the suspicion of being kidnappers.

Describing the attack as disturbing, Yusuf said there is a need to entrench the essence of value for human life among Nigerians.

He, however assured that his government has put together every measure to prevent reprisal attacks in the state.

Yusuf said, “We also urge that those arrested be publicly paraded to bring relief to the victims’ families and to ensure accountability.

“I call on Governor Okpebholo to ensure that the families of the victims receive fair compensation for their loss. I also commend President Tinubu for his prompt response and commitment to justice by directing security agencies to pursue the perpetrators,” the Kano State governor said.
