The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has clarified that Senator Samuel Anyanwu has not been reinstated as the party’s National Secretary following a Supreme Court judgment delivered on Friday, March 21, 2025.
In a statement released by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), the party reaffirmed that the apex court’s ruling upheld the internal mechanisms of the party in determining its leadership and validated Rt. Hon. SKE Udeh Okoye as the substantive National Secretary.
The party emphasized that Anyanwu was replaced in October 2023 after he emerged as the PDP’s governorship candidate for the Imo State election. Following due process, the South East Zonal Executive Committee nominated Udeh Okoye, a decision ratified by the NWC, Board of Trustees, PDP Governors’ Forum, and formally communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
With the Supreme Court’s decision, the PDP stressed that its leadership structure remains unchanged and urged members to remain united in strengthening the party’s future.
