The Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Public Petitions has recommended a six-month suspension for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The recommendation was contained in the report of the committee, read at plenary by its chairman, Senator Neda Imasuen (Labour Party—Edo South).
The committee also recommends that her salary and allowances and those of her aides be suspended for the duration of the suspension and that her office at the Senate wing be put under lock and key.
Also, she must not be allowed access to the premises of the National Assembly while the suspension lasts.
However, the committee’s recommendations are still being debated as plenary is still ongoing.
