Former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has announced that he has resumed his position as the leader of the parliament.
Obasa made the declaration on Thursday after arriving at the Assembly complex with police and State Security Service (SSS) personnel, marking his first return since his removal on January 13.
“I’ve resumed, and I remain the Speaker of the Assembly,” Obasa stated.
This development adds to the ongoing leadership crisis within the Assembly, as Obasa’s removal and the election of Mojisola Meranda as Speaker remain subjects of intense political contention.
