The embattled former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa has denied claims that some guns were discovered in his office by officials of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Obasa made the denial in a statement titled, Re: โDSS Uncovers Arms Cache In Obasaโs Office Day After Lagos Assembly Drama.โ
He described the reports linking arms allegedly discovered at his office to him as false.
On Wednesday, some online reports had it that the DSS discovered a total of 47 pump-action guns in the office of Obasa.
Obasaโs statement also said that report of the DSS discovery is a concoction of stories.
โThe ill-conceived story, apart from being a complete concoction, clearly exposes its author and paymasters as maliciously of low intelligence quotient, only out to malign my hard-earned reputation spanning decades of political leadership and legislative hard work.
โFrom the foregoing, it is obviously discerning that my traducers are furtively attempting to call a dog a bad name just to hang it.
โI consider their purported sudden discovery of โcache of arms ammunition in the Speakerโs Office as nothing but an afterthought, having sensed the futility of their illegal actions,โ Obasa said.
