A University Don, Prof. Philip Adetiloye on Monday cautioned those sabotaging the country against path of progress and development by using the country as field laboratory for testing limits of human endurance.
DAILY POST reports that the Professor of Crop Science, who retired from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, gave the charge at a news conference in Ado-Ekiti, on State of The Nation.
He said for decades, government policies and programmes no longer appeared to be solving the problems, associated with hopelessness, even as many able youths, now formed the unwilling habit of traveling out of the country in droves, in search of greener pastures.
This, he noted, was due to the activities of saboteurs of genuine efforts, both within and outside of the establishment.
He described the situation as regrettable, noting that the deplorable economy, poor standard of living and insecurity of lives, continued to lose existential threats to the country, as promoted, right from state level, and compounded by systematic jettisoning of local government autonomy.
