Bello El-Rufai, the House of Representatives member for Kaduna North and son of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has expressed support for an investigation into his father’s administration—provided it is conducted fairly and without bias.
Speaking on BBC Hausa’s Mahangar Zamani, he emphasized that while accountability is essential, any probe should be aimed at uncovering the truth rather than serving political vendettas.
He downplayed the perceived rift between his father and Governor Uba Sani, arguing that the situation has been exaggerated.
The lawmaker also cautioned against using investigations as a tool for political retaliation. “If driven by selfish motives, such inquiries only hinder progress,” he warned.
Bello reaffirmed his commitment to representing his constituents, dismissing calls for him to mediate the dispute.
He stated that his focus remains on governance in Kaduna North. His comments come amid growing discussions on political accountability in Kaduna State, with increasing calls for transparency in addressing past administrative decisions
