Agricultural experts have advised farmers in Northern Nigeria on the steps they should take following a recent announcement by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET).
Recall that the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) had predicted that eight northern states will experience delayed onset of rainfall in 2025.
The prediction was contained in its 2025 Seasonal Climate Prediction (SCP).
In a statement, the agency mentioned the states to include Plateau, Kaduna, Niger, Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba, Adamawa and Kwara.
In the prediction, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Anambra, and sections of Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Lagos, Edo, Enugu, Imo, and Ebonyi would witness early onset of rainfall.
“Earlier than long-term average end-of-rainy season is predicted over parts of Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Plateau, Bauchi, Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, Niger, Kwara, Kogi, FCT, Ekiti, and Ondo States.
