Gov Aliyu tasks new security chiefs on insecurity in Sokoto

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has called on newly appointed heads of security agencies in the state to intensify efforts in combating banditry and other criminal activities.

The governor made this appeal during a courtesy visit by the security heads to the Government House in Sokoto, the state capital, on Friday.

He highlighted the significant progress the state government has made in tackling insecurity and urged the new security chiefs to build on these accomplishments.

“We have achieved remarkable successes in our fight against banditry in Sokoto, and we expect you to continue this progress with your best efforts,” Governor Aliyu said.

He encouraged the security chiefs to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors in terms of dedication, hard work, and selfless service, emphasizing the importance of a collaborative approach to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.

Governor Aliyu praised the people of Sokoto as peaceful and law-abiding, urging the security agencies to engage with local communities to foster trust and cooperation. “Our people are hospitable and welcoming to all who come to serve or reside here,” he added
