No bandit camps in Kebbi – Gov Idris debunks reports

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has debunked the reports making the rounds that there are established bandit camps within the state.

The governor spoke on Thursday, explaining that most of the bandits operating in Kebbi come from neighbouring states, as the state shares borders with three states and two countries.

Idris made this disclosure while addressing journalists after a closed door security meeting held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

He emphasised that the state government has made significant efforts to address security challenges over the past year.

According to him, the purpose of the recent meeting was to devise strategies and plans for the year 2025.

To further enhance the fight against banditry, Governor Idris announced plans to strengthen the operations of vigilante groups complementing security forces in the state
