Dr. Cyril Adams Oshiomhole, the newly appointed Edo State Commissioner for Health, assumed office on Wednesday, 20th November, 2024, and has embarked on a familiarization tour of the Ministry’s facilities at the State Secretariat Complex as well as other key health facilities in Benin City.
The Commissioner who was accompanied during the tour by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Stanley Ehiarimwian, and directors of various departments, assured that he will operate an open-door policy. He pledged to align his work with the agenda of the State Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo.
Health facilities visited by the Commissioner and his Team include the Ogbe Nursing Home, the Sickle Cell Centre, the Pediatric Wing of the Central Hospital, the Edo Specialist Hospital and the Stella Obasanjo Hospital.
Dr. Oshiomole also inspected the former site of the Central Hospital, which is currently being redeveloped as the Museum of West African Arts (MOWAA). He stated that tour was to avail him the conditions of the facilities.
The Commissioner appreciated the State Governor’s dedication to improving healthcare delivery and acknowledged that the efforts are aimed towards providing quality healthcare services to Edo residents, even in the early days of the Administration.
