The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors’ Forum has called on the security agencies to take note of the threats by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to cause political crisis in the state of any governor who tries to interfere in the affairs of the party in Rivers State.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Director General of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Emmanuel Agbo.
The statement noted that nobody is above the law.
DAILY POST recalls that Wike on Saturday in Port Harcourt, said “I hear some governors who say they will take over the structure and give back to somebody, I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states.”
According to the governors, the utterances and threats to peaceful coexistence made by Wike to put fire in the PDP-controlled states are unbridled, irresponsible and unacceptable.
They added that Wike’s comments undermine efforts to build and maintain peace, cohesion, collaboration and mutual respect amongst leaders and members of the party.
They said it was rather unfortunate that such comments were coming from someone who was once a governor
