Ekiti Govt announces week-long Steam Boot Camp for secondary school students

 

The Ekiti State Government through the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Digital Economy has announced the hosting of the state’s inaugural Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Boot Camp for selected students of public secondary school in the state scheduled to hold from 1st September to 7th September, 2024.

The Commissioner of the Ministry, Mr. Seun Fakuade in a statement in Ado-Ekiti said the week long event which is designed for students to explore the exciting world of STEAM fields will hold at the Government Secondary School, Ado Ekiti.

Fakuade explained that the STEAM Boot Camp will feature a range of hands-on activities and interactive workshops designed to engage students in creative problem-solving and critical thinking as participants would have the opportunity to work with industry professionals and experts in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.

“We are thrilled to bring this unique opportunity to the students selected from all the Government Secondary Schools in Ekiti State,” Fakuade noted.

He said STEAM education is essential for preparing students for the future endeavors.

The commissioner stressed that the selected students will have the chance to participate in various activities such as robotics workshops, coding sessions, art projects and more, noting that, the goal of the Boot Camp is to inspire students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematic fields and to foster a love for learning and experimentation
