British croc expert bags 10 years imprisonment for sexually abusing dozens of dogs

A renowned British crocodile expert, Adam Britton, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in Australia for sexually abusing dozens of dogs, BBC reports.

Britton, a leading zoologist, was jailed after admitting to committing bestiality in a case that horrified the nation.

The convict, who had worked for BBC and National Geographic productions, pleaded guilty to 56 charges related to bestiality and animal cruelty.

The 53-year-old man also admitted to four counts of accessing child abuse material.

The Northern Territory Supreme Court heard that Britton filmed himself torturing the animals until almost all died, and then shared the videos online under pseudonyms.

His abuse went unnoticed for several years until a clue was found in one of his videos, leading to his arrest in April 2022.

He was arrested after a search of his rural Darwin property, which also revealed child abuse material on his laptop.

Chief Justice Michael Grant told Britton, “Your depravity falls outside any ordinary human conception,” BBC quoted Australian Associated Press.

Including time already served, Britton could be eligible for parole in April 2028. He is also banned from owning any mammals for the rest of his life
