Kano: 4.7m pupils learning on bare floor, indictment on govt, wealthy individuals – Shehu Sani

Former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has described reports that 4.7 million school pupils in Kano State learn while sitting on the bare floor as unfortunate.

IgbereTV recalls that the Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf recently accused the immediate past administration led by Abdullahi Ganduje of neglecting the education sector.

The governor claimed that when his administration took over in May 2023, about 4.7 million pupils were sitting on bare floor in primary schools across the state.

Reacting, Shehu Sani, in a post on his official X handle on Friday, ascribed the development to the “failure of responsibility by successive governments”.

According to him, there are wealthy people in the state who could effortlessly fix the problem.

He wrote, “The revelations made by the Kano State Governor that 4.7 million pupils are sitting on the bare floor is sad and unfortunate.

“Its a failure of responsibility by the successive governments in the state.

“In Kano, there are more than a thousand wealthy people who can solve that problem within 24 hours. This is an indictment on them.”
