Gender Inequality Made Mrs Mary Able Osarobe Not To Have An Education

The establishment of the first free adult education program in Okrika by OPM has changed this woman’s story today.

So many uneducated persons you see in our society may not have been as a result of their doing, they may have been forced into such situation.

That is the story of Mrs Mary Osarobe, the woman you see here. At a very young age, her father already decided not to train his female children through secondary or tertiary institutions as he firmly believed that a woman will always end up in the kitchen at her husband’s house.

When she was in primary five (5) her father died but her mother carried on his wish of not educating their female children. Her mother gave her up to a man who promised to marry her but he just ended up impregnating her an left her to fate.

Since then she has always longed to see the four walls of a school.

Fortunately, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere introduced the first Free Adult Education program in Okrika, Rivers State. Her wish of being educated has finally come true, she has now been successfully enrolled into the OPM Free Adult Education program.
All thanks to God.
