Zamfara APC crisis: Ward executives reverse suspension of state chairman

The executive members of Galadima Ward Gusau of the All Progressive Congress, APC, who recently suspended the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Umar Tukur Danfulani, have unanimously reversed the suspension.

The executive of the ward swallowed their words by signing and submitting a letter of withdrawal of the suspension to the state headquarters of the party.

Submitting the notice of withdrawal to Tijjani Abubakar Dan Ayya, the Gusau Local Government chairman of the party, said they were deceived to sign the suspension letter.

According to the publicity secretary, the meeting to suspend the chairman was held with a senatorial aspirant who decided to meet with the leaders to express his ambition ahead of the 2027 elections.

β€œA paper of attendance went around for signatures, which was later used to achieve his political ambition through unpatriotic party members,” he said.

Speaking, the APC Chairman of Gusau Local Government Area, Tijjani Abubakar Dan Ayya, said during the handover that the suspension withdrawal letter contained a refreshment of the loyalty of the exco to the leadership of Danfulani and the State APC.

Responding to the letter on behalf of the state chairman, the state secretary of APC, Ibrahim Umar Birnin Magaji, commended the executives for their timely U-turn on the controversial and illegal suspension of the state chairman.

β€œI therefore urged all peace-loving members of the APC to remain calm and committed to recapturing Zamfara State by 2027,” he added.

Birinin Magaji, however, warned that the party would not fold its arms to allow those behind the unconstitutional moves to go unpunished, especially as it has created uproar in the state and the party
