After two months in detention, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Ogbonna Nwifuru, has asked the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Oguzorkanu Offia-Nwali, to temper justice with mercy, and consider standing down the case he has with Chika Nwoba.
IGBERE TV reports that Chika Nwoba who is the state publicity secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi State has been in detention after he accused Offia-Nwali of embezzling Ebonyi hawkers’ fund.
In a statement seen on Sunday signed by Leo Ekene Oketa, Special Assistant to the Governor said the Governor as well, implored the Secretary to State Government (SSG), Prof. Mrs. Grace Umezurike, to kindly heed the court’s submission regarding Chika Nwoba’s bail condition, and oblige by signing as surety to ensure he meets his bail conditions.
He said the Governor Nwifuru made these known in his statement today, after the Holy Mass at Government House Chapel, Ochoudo Centenary City, Abakaliki.
