There was heavy gunshot at the Abuja residence of former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, on Wednesday after Governor Usman Ododo “smuggled” him out of the building.
Recall that officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had besieged Bello’s residence to arrest him on Wednesday afternoon.
Bello, in a statement, also urged President Bola Tinubu to call the EFCC to order, saying the invasion was ill-motivated.
It was gathered that after hours of being unable to secure Bello’s arrest, the security operatives reinforced with backup support from the Police and Department of State Services (DSS).
It was gathered that the security operatives were planning to forcefully arrest him before the arrival of Ododo.
Ododo, who drove into Bello’s compound, departed after a while.
However, as he was leaving, reports filtered in that Yahaya Bello was in his vehicle, forcing security operatives who had been on standby to start shooting sporadically into the air.
