Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Council’s Chairman, Nwankwo, noted that the visit was to strengthen the already existing relationship and interact more on how best to develop the university and the host communities.

“The Vice-Chancellor, we, stakeholders of Ikwo Noyo, are here to commend you for the cooperation and peaceful coexistence that has existed between the school, stakeholders, and the people of Ikwo Noyo clan.

“It is our desire to set up an inter-security agency team, private, and public partnership committee to interface on modalities to bring in a watertight security network and further secure the school and achieve other developmental plans.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sunday Elom, thanked the Council Boss for his leadership qualities, support for security, and development of Ikwo LGA and the university community.

He thanked the stakeholders for being vanguards of peace and development and assured them of the management’s preparedness to work with them to confront challenges facing the school and the host local government.

On the request for the establishment of a primary school, secondary school, and an inter-community development committee by the stakeholders, the VC promised to initiate discussions on that, adding that AE-FUNAI primary and secondary schools have commenced.
