Dr (Mrs) Aisosa Amadasun has congratulated Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu, on his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for the Edo State 2024 governorship election slated for 21st September.
Amadasun is a former State Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State and former PDP Edo State House of Assembly aspirant for Oredo II Constituency.
In her congratulatory message, the PDP chieftain described Shaibu’s emergence as a triumph of good over evil and a victory for all the oppressed in the state, and not just for the deputy governor alone.
She said, “I am highly elated to congratulate His Excellency, Hon Philip Shaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, on his emergence as the flag bearer of our great party, the PDP, for the upcoming 2024 governorship election.
“Permit me to place on record that your performance at the primary election and subsequent emergence as gubernatorial candidate is well-deserved and a testament of the confidence reposed in you by the authentic delegates of our great party, the PDP.
“Indeed, your resounding victory at the primaries is divine and a triumph of good over evil — on account of the unwholesome activities of some unpatriotic elements before and during the primaries — who do not mean well for the progress our great party, the PDP and development of our dear state, Edo.”
Shaibu polled 301 votes to emerge the flag bearer of the PDP in the primary election against nine other aspirants held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, in Benin City.
