Christmas/New Year Celebrations Depopulated Lagos

Lagos, the mega city and the one of the most popular commercial city in Nigeria , is Left with scanty population of people in it’s most known commercial points within the metropolis.

Low population results from higher number of Lagosian’ who traveled out of the state to mark the Christmas and new year year festival.

In a news source by ITV lagos correspondence , December 29th 2023, the popular mile -2 market ,a metropolitan Centre that leads to all parts of Lagos and other states was seen with seeds of countable individual with few vehicles.

Mile -2 market leads to Lagos island, Ojo , Agbara and the Badagry ancient city. of Lagos west. APapa Sea Port, Surulere , Ajeromi LGA and Oshodi – Apapa Express way linking Ikeja, the state capital. All These routs were noted with a free flow of traffic compared to it’s usual nature.

most commercial motorists also attested to scanty population on the Roads as they complain for “no Passengers. saying ” people have traveled to their various states and villages.

Shops within Mile -2 market were seen closed as at the time of these report, Road side article retailers as well were not in their usual positions

Agbara market , along Lagos Badagry express also has low turn out of traders with most shops closed signifying effect of Christmas and new year celebration.

Main while, Alaba inter market, trade fair market officially closed earlier to resumed by 2nd of January 2024 as state by mr. Celeb one of the traders , and a Dealer on motor spare parts affording most Eastern traders the opportunity travel .
