I’ll continue to prioritize security, end communal clashes in Ebonyi – Nwifuru

Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru has vowed to end all communal clashes in the state.

Nwifuru made this known while addressing citizens of the state during the 2023 Ngboejogu Nation Day Celebration, held at the Central School Ngbo, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the State.

The governor, who was represented by the Deputy Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Mr. Chinedu Onah, said his administration would continue to ensure that there was security of lives and property without compromise.

He said that he was happy with the news of peace that returned between the people of Ngbo and their Agila neighbouring Community of Benue State and enjoined stakeholders from both sides to ensure it was sustained.

Nwifuru emphasized that his government invested resources into the peace process because of his belief that more can always be achieved in a peaceful environment.

He assured that as part of measures to sustain the peace and facilitate communal relationship and trade, his government will construct the road linking Ngbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and Agila in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State.

Earlier in a remark, a former Governor of the State and the Senator who represented Ebonyi North Senatorial District in the 9th and 10 Senate, Senator Sam Egwu called on stakeholders to take advantage of the gains of the weeklong event and give the Ngbo nation a more distinct direction that will drive out bickerings.

Senator Egwu, represented by his media aide, Mr Samuel Okpor congratulated Ngbo people for the peace achieved, and tasked the stakeholders to ensure that there is more growth, development, love and unity among Ngbo people
