Operation Still Water 3 : Three Killed As Militants Loyal To Biafra Separatists, Nigeria Troops Clash In Cross River

At least three persons have been killed following exchange of gunfire between the Nigeria troops of Operations Still Water 3 and militant group suspected to be the Dragon Fighter Marine in Ikpankanya in Akpabuyo local government area of Cross River State.

Troops of Operations Still Water 3 tried to invade the militant hideout at 10am in the morning on thursday 7 December, 2023 but were faced with stiff resistance by the militant group following heavy shootout that lasted for an hour.

Three soldiers were killed with several others in critical condition while some of the militants members were said to have sustained injury.

 

Dragon Fighter Marine is a militant group fighting alongside the Black Marine, another militant force in the Bakassi Peninsula, the groups are alleged to be members of the Biafra Nations League, BnL.

Finland based agitator and Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, Simon Ekpa have severally described the two militant groups as Biafran Navy.

Meanwhile, suspected members of BnL on Wednesday 6 December, 2023 prevented travellers going and coming from Cameroon through illegal border crossing in Ekong Anaku, a border community in Akamkpa local government area of Cross River State, the youths armed with matchet and sticks were seen in a video burning tyres on Cameroon border road.
