Nigeria star Victor Osimhene has been named Italian Footballer of the Year by the Italian Footballers’ Association (IFA)
Osimhen was named the 2023 Player of the Year largely due to his goal that helped Napoli win the title.
Osimhen, a Nigerian international, scored 26 goals in 32 appearances to help the Partenopei win their first Serie A title in 33 years.
The 24-year-old, who recently returned from a hamstring injury, has scored six goals this season.
The award has previously been won by Rafael Leao, Gianluigi Buffon, Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrea Prullo, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The IFA Awards, which began in 1968, include Team of the Year, Manager of the Year, Club of the Year, and Goal of the Year.
