Kogi State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Senator Dino Melaye, has admitted defeat in the 11-11 election, saying he will not challenge the results in the election petition Court because of lack of independence in the judiciary.
The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) had declared apc candidate Usman Ododo as the winner of the gubernatorial election, a result of a fierce rivalry between Melaye and the APC
Melaye’s decision not to go to court stems from his belief that “the judiciary has become an instrument of all Progressives Congress (APC),” and it is impossible to seek redress.
“Justice is no longer the last hope of ordinary people, it is now a division under all progressives’ Congress (APC) When the APC occupied the judiciary, why should the responsible person go to court?”
