In a bid to sell his book, a Self-proclaimed Nigerian writer identified as Emeka Nobis is currently under fire after he described Ebonyians as backward people.
According to him, “Living in Ebonyi? I’ve been told you guys are backward…..,”.
Meanwhile, Ebonyians didn’t find it funny as they are currently blasting him over the comment.
Former Ebonyi Lawmaker, Maria Ude Nwachi said, “[To sell his book Nobis had to humiliate and debase an entire state. Which ever state he comes from my be Elon Musk type state with 24hours light and a working system. Ada Ujaligwa come and see the person you hype to us. Chai – MUN”
A Nigerian journalist from Ebonyi State, Wisdom Nwedene also lambasted him over the comment.
He said : “After Insulting Ndi Ebonyi, You Still Want Them To Come And Buy Your Nonsense Book. Make I See Who Go Buy The Book.”
Another Nigerian writer from Ebonyi State, Maazi Ogbonnaya Okoro said :
“Living in Ebonyi State? I’ve been told you guys are backward”, therefore, come and buy my book so that you people will not be backward again.”
“Your visit must be that of Elon Musk and Bill Gate. You must be overestimating and overrating yourself to feel you are better than anyone from Ebọnyị State.”
“Your visit as their Messiah, even though you still want to hawk your book, will help their lives.”
“Because you were told they are backward, therefore, meeting you will change their backwardness to forwardness. What a myopic stereotype in the name of marketing. But they have to spare their backward money to you, so that you give them book as their Economic Messiah.”
“I mean, you could simply market your books without insulting the sensibility of a people. This is below belt for you. You don’t have sense sir.”
“I know you are a shámelesss marketer but you should at least reserve some dignity. You want people you insult to come Welcome you, the president of ụwa niile. I don’t blame you. I blame those you finger their brains with motigbenshional speaking. Success in your book hawking. ”
