The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday approved the appointment of Dr Chukwuemeka Agbasi as the Managing Director, Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and nine others as Members of the Agency.
Recall that the Senate on November 1st received a request by President Tinubu as contained in a letter addressed to the President of Senate Godswill Akpabio.
Tinubu asked the Senate to confirm Agbasi and nine others as Managing Director and Members of FERMA in accordance with the provision of Section 2(3) of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) Act, 2007.
Chairman Senate Committee on FERMA Senator Hussaini, Babangsda Uba (Jigawa North West) whoβs committee was saddled with the responsibility of screening the nominees presented the report of his committee to the Senate.
The report read; β that the Senate do receive and consider the report of the Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) on the confirmation of the nomination of the following persons for appointments as Managing Director and Members of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in accordance with Section 2(1}(2) of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) Act, 2002.
Subsequently, President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio via majority of voice votes of the Senators confirmed the Managing Director, Engr Dr Chukwuemeka Chilioke Agbasi and nine others they are; Engr. Ib1 Terna Manaseeh, Dr Kenneth Ugbala, Senator Timothy Aduda,Babatunde Daramola ,Hon. Preye Oseke ,Aminu Adamu Papa, Engr Abubakar Bappa, ACM Shehu Mohammed Member and Yusuf Lawal Othman.
