JUSUN announce an ongoing strike in Osun.

The Judicial Officers Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Osun State Chapter immediately went on an indefinite strike.

 

The strike was announced on Wednesday, November 22nd, by State JUSUN Chairman, Oluwagbenga Olakunle Eludire.

 

 

 

The President of Eludire Osun, Justice Adepele Ojo, has declared war on the workers, saying the union will not quit until they get answers. The strike follows protests on Monday and Tuesday, November 20 and On the 21st, Osun JUSUN was implicated in allegations of administrative corruption against the Chief Judge of Osun, Justice Oebola Adepele Ojo.

 

 

JUSUN members also accused him of unfairly harassing some employees and denying them rights, from reinstatement to training to the expiration of clothing allowances from 2021 to 2023. When announcing the strike, Eludire briefly outlined the demands, including that “training and promotion training must be carried out without delay”.

 

 

 

“Other benefits that JUSUN members can enjoy should also be implemented without delay.”

 

 

 

Eludire directed all judicial officers in the state to refrain from going to court and resign from their positions and services. According to him, the union has appealed to the court to resolve the outstanding issues, including the illegal dismissal of some union members for over 57 months, without going through the judicial commission.
