Police interrogate deaf and dumb suspect accused of murdering farmer in Ekiti
A deaf and dumb man identified as Sunday Alabi in Ekiti State has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing a farmer.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, November 1, at Ipole Farm Settlement, Agbado-Ekiti, Ayekire Local Government Development Area. 21.
Alabi attacked the deceased farmer, identified as Sikiru, for taunting him for stealing his produce. Sources close to the community told news reporters in Ado-Ekiti yesterday that the deaf man was caught on farmland.
A source said, “The deaf suspect went to Shikiru’s farm on that fateful day and stole produce. When Shikiru had the audacity to ask him why he was working overtime to steal produce from his farm, the deaf suspect came in front of.” , Alavi became violent and attacked his head with a machete. “The victim was drenched in his own blood. “After he was attacked, other nearby farmers heard his cries for help and rushed to get him, later attracting the attention of the police.”
The Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ekiti State Command, DSP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident and arrested the culprit.
Abutu said the police had launched an investigation into the incident.
