NAF officers are accused of breach of security by the EFCC.

 

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Kaduna Area Command, has announced that the Nigerian Air Force personnel released on bail will be charged to court after the conclusion of ongoing investigations.

 

The NAF officers, who were released on bail last Friday, tried to rescue their colleagues who were arrested on fraud charges by the anti-corruption agency. They now face charges of breaching security, according to the Anti-Corruption Commission.

 

 

In a statement, EFCC Head of Media and Public Relations, Dele Oyuale;

 

 

 

 

“An operation by the EFCC Kaduna Zonal Command on Monday, November 13, 2023 led to the arrest of five suspects at the Inn and Disney Chicken Eatery in Barnawa, Kaduna following credible information on internet fraud activities. “The suspected fraudsters: Favor Itung, Rachael Ande, Zuleiman Haruna, Abubakar Ismaila and Solomon Olobatoke were arrested without incident.

 

However, after the operation, six soldiers who witnessed the Disney Chicken Eatery operation attacked the Kaduna commandos and tried to force the release of the arrested fraud suspects. They were stopped and arrested for violating security regulations.

 

“The perpetrators are four members of the Air Force (Lawal Abdullahi, Chukwum Christian, Alpha Suleiman and Emmanuel Ekwozor) and two students of the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology (Chidera Anuba and Joseph Tokula). During detention, there were discussions, discussions, discussions and discussions through the CSC and Nigerian air forces.

 

 

“EFCC is involved in self -control and rent challenges and rent. The commission continued to function under the leadership of the Nigerian Air Force and seconded the officers to the NAF Provost after being properly profiled.
