Igwe Ambrose, a 65-year-old landlord, was jailed for life for defiling his tenants’ two daughters, aged seven and 11.
Ambrose, who allegedly inserted his fingers into the private parts of a minor, has been charged by the Lagos State government with four counts of sexual assault by indecent exposure and penetration of a child. The offenses were committed between January and June 2021 at Shagari Estate, Ipaja, Lagos.
Justice Abiola Soladoye Ikeja of the Sexual Offenses and Family Violence Court on Monday, November 20, ruled that the prosecution proved the allegations against the accused to be baseless. Abiola later sentenced Igwe to life imprisonment. Soladoe described the defendant as a dirty old man who touched and groped the survivors’ br*asts under the guise of helping them with their schoolwork. He said the suspect has been identified and evidence from survivors has shown him to be a liar.
