Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has rejected the ruling of the Court of Appeal that removed him on Friday, November 17.
After careful consideration and strict engagement of stakeholders, my team and the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) have decided to appeal to the Supreme Court on the miscarriage of justice handed down by the Court of Appeal yesterday in Abuja.
We hope that the Supreme Court will, by the grace of Allah (swt), nullify the miscarriage of justice by the Tribunal and the Court of Appeal and reaffirm our mandate given to us by the good people of Kano State.
I further call upon the good people of Kano State to continue to engage in their lawful affairs with the fundamental obligation to have taken all necessary steps to ensure the safety of their lives and property.
Finally, I call on the good people of the state and other well-meaning Nigerians to continue to pray for Allah’s mercy and protection to save the state from the injustice of the malefactors who are desperately plotting to take over power through the back door and return the state to the dark ages.”
