District Head and Five Others Are Kidnapped by Bandits in Kaduna, Injuring Two Police

A local JTF official who spoke to Daily Trust newspaper on Wednesday, November 15, said the district head was kidnapped along with two others.

 

The incident occurred on Sunday night, November 12, around 7:00 p.m., as the victims were walking out of the reservation center behind Bethel Baptist School on the Kaduna-Kujama highway.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

According to him, the district director was with two others when a group of armed men came on a motorcycle and pulled a gun on him.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

‘The incident took place behind Bethel Baptist School, and the incident happened at about 7 p.m. on Sunday. People around the Angwar Ayaba community said they saw the motorcycle carrying them into the bush.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also confirming the incident to this publication on Wednesday, Aldon Ardodi and Ibrahim Saleh of the Chikung local government said it was an unfortunate incident.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

‘It is true that the district director was kidnapped. It is very unfortunate, but may God put an end to such an incident,” he said.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In a related development, the Kakangi community in Birnin Gwari district of Kaduna State was attacked by bandits, with two riot policemen sustaining gunshot wounds.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The incident occurred on Monday morning when the bandits stormed the outskirts of the community and attempted to set an armored personnel carrier of riot police in the area ablaze.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The security forces managed to move the vehicle out of the area despite the bandits firing at the ties.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ishaq Kasai, chairman of the Progressive Union of the Emirate of Birnin Gwari, confirmed the incident and said that the driver of the vehicle and another person suffered gunshot wounds to their hands.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The bandits intercepted several farmers returning from their farms and demanded money before allowing them to return home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The two wounded riot policemen are being treated at the Birnin Gwari Hospital. We are requesting for more security personnel in Kakangi ward in western Birnin Gwari and other areas of the LGA near the bandits’ camp,” Kasai urged.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In another development, bandits invaded Reining Makhuta in Tabanni village and kidnapped three people. The incident occurred on Monday night when the bandits broke into the victims’ rooms and took them to an unknown destination.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The three abductees were Musa Lawal, Ibrahim Sha’i, and Murtala Usman, whose families have not yet been contacted by the kidnappers.
