Living Waters Ministries, the founder of the Zimbabwe Church, the Apostle Christoper Mudavarima, exploited vulnerable women within his church community, especially single mothers, and reacted to allegations of deception.
The controversy came to light when it emerged in the church WhatsApp group to denounce evidence including photos and chat transcripts. One unidentified victim exposed Mudavarima’s alleged pattern of proposing marriage to a large number of women in the church, seeking financial contributions under the guise of support for the apostle Vutabwashe.
In response to allegations made by 12 women, the clergy admitted to having an affair with 3 different women.
Speaking with H-Metro, he said;
“Everything they’re saying is a lie, but I’ve double crossed 3 different women, so they united to make these stories. It was Maggie who opened my phone and found out that I was dating Candy and Clarice.”
Speaking about this issue, one victim, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed her distress: “This man is a feminist, and he is a different woman in the church.”
The Apostle Christopher Mudawarima has a track record of being involved in the controversy reportedly due to suspicious behavior, and this recent incident is not isolated.
In 2022, Mudawarima was convicted of fraud of 4 US1183 to a job seeker by falsely promising to secure a job at a mining company.
According to Masvingo Miller, Mudawarima received a sentence of 48 months, 18 months suspended on the condition of repaying to the complainant, and another 3 months suspended on the condition of good behavior.
Court proceedings revealed that the accused had a prison term suspended for the previous six months from another case that was reactivated. As a result, he faces a valid 30-month prison term. The reason behind his absence from state custody remains unclear.
