… Reveals Party’s plan to commence digital registration of members
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa has appealed to members of the Party in Ebonyi State to bury the hatchets and join hands with the Mr Emmanuel Chukwudi Nwankwo-led State Executive to build a united and formidable Party.
Barr. Ezeokenwa who made this known in Abakaliki during his first official visit yesterday to the Ebonyi State Chapter of the Party made it clear that he has no intention whatsoever to tinker with the existing State’s leadership structure as there was no reason for him to do that.
He however charged Mr Nwankwo to brace up and build a united and strong APGA in Ebonyi State through inclusive leadership.
In his words, “under my leadership, APGA as a truly progressive Party will live the reality of our Motto: Be your brother’s keeper! Working with all State Executives and members of our great Party, we are going to build a very strong and united political Party that will be ideally progressive”.
The National Chairman who began by appreciating the Party’s stakeholders and members for the warm reception given to him in Ebonyi specifically thanked the State Chairman of the party Mr Emmanuel Chukwudi Nwankwo, and the State Secretary Mr. Eistern Okpara Ogbonnaya, the State APGA Youth Leader Comr Sam Chineme Mgbada, the Odometer state coordinator for the 2023 Odohzia campaign Council, members of the State Working Committee, (SWC) and members of the State Executive Committee(SEC).
Others also present who were extolled by the National Chairman include; the Honourable Member representing Ezza North East State constituency at the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ken Okeh, other top stakeholders of APGA in Ebonyi State and all the members of the party in the State who trouped out in their numbers to welcome him.
Ezeokenwa who chronicled the history and the reasons for the formation of APGA in 2002 told the party faithfuls that under his watch as the National Chairman of APGA in Nigeria, every member of the Party will be given fair treatment and attention whether as an EXCO member or not.
The National Chairman
stated that the Ebonyi State Chapter of the Party has been highly favoured being the first State chapter he will pay a visit as the National Chairman of the party, therefore charging all Party members not to underrate such God’s favour.
The National Chairman while responding to the request of one of the Party’s stakeholders and active women mobilizer, Mrs. Beatrice Nkwuda for a training and orientation programme for all the leadership of the party at various levels in the State promised to liaise with the South East National Vice-Chairman of the party for the Party’s leadership at the National level to organize orientation training for the Party’s leaders across board in Ebonyi State and beyond.
He also reaffirmed his confidence on the leadership of Mr Emmanuel Chukwudi Nwankwo as the only Chairman of the Party in the State who has demonstrated enormous leadership capacity capable of taking the Party to greater heights in the near future.
The National Chairman further announced that the party will soon commence a digital online membership Registration, adding that one of his brain child Programme for APGA called ‘The APGA foundation’ for the less-privileged in Nigeria.
Ezeokenwa however warned that under his watch, discipline is one of the core objectives of what he tagged; “My 6-point Agenda for APGA” To this end, he made it clear, that his administration will not hesitate to raise the sledgehammer on whosoever that violate the constitution of the Party.
In concluding his remarks, the National Chairman also poured encomiums on the personality of the leader of APGA in Ebonyi State and the Party’s Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2023 General elections, Professor Benard Ifeanyichukwu Odoh, urging his audience to continue to pray fervently for God’s favour upon the erudite Professor of Geo-Physics.
He further promised to visit Ebonyi State again between January and February, 2024 during which there will be an avenue to ensure that members are allowed to air their views and grievances(if any), promising that any such grievances raised will be peacefully resolved.
On his part, the State’s Chairman, Mr Chukwudi Emmanuel Nwankwo promised to continue to do his best in uniting all members of the Party and sincerely appreciated the Party’s National Chairman for the visit.
