In Bauchi, a teenage housewife beat her 5-year-old stepdaughter to death

In the Kandahar region of the state, a housewife named Khadija Adamu, 18 year old, was detained by the Bauchi State Police Command after she allegedly beat her 5-year-old stepdaughter to death.

This was revealed on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at a press conference held at the police headquarters in Bauchi by the state’s commissioner of police, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad.

According to CP Muhammed, Khadija was detained after Abdulaziz Adamu told police that the suspect had beaten Hafsat Garba.

Hafsat Garba suffered serious injuries as a result, and a doctor at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) confirmed that she had passed away.

The Commissioner claims that there was little debate when the suspect admitted to the crime.

“On September 28, 2023, at approximately 2125 hours, one Abdulaziz Adamu’m’, age 38, of the Kandahar area of Bauchi, reported at A’ Divisional Police Headquarters that on the same day, at approximately 1600 hours, one Khadija Adamu ‘f’, age 18, of the same address beat up her stepdaughter named “Hafsat Garba” ‘f, age 5, as a result of which she sustained serious injuries on her body,”.

A team of detectives led by DPO sprang into action after receiving the report, rushed to the scene, and moved the victim to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in Bauchi, where a doctor certified her death.

“Preliminary investigation showed that the victim was beaten up by the suspect due to an alleged pass-stood that ruined her clothes and caused her to suffer various degrees of injuries throughout her body,” the investigation found.

“Without much resistance, the suspect admitted to the alleged offense against her during questioning.

“Investigations are still ongoing; when they are finished, the suspect will be appropriately charged in court for the recognized offense
