Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho says he is not in competition with Jamie Vardy for a starting role in the team.
Iheanacho has played second fiddle to Vardy since his arrival at King Power in 2017.
The Nigeria international was the Foxes top scorer last season and was voted the club’s Player of the Season.
Iheanacho and Vardy have scored four goals each for Enzo Maresca’s side this season.
The 27-year-old expressed his admiration for Vardy and described the Englishman as a legend.
“Let me put that right, it’s never a battle with me and Jamie, he’s a legend in the game, he’s done a lot for this great club, so it’s never a battle for me and Jamie,” he told LeicestershireLive.
“I’ve got absolute respect for him, he’s a legend as I’ve said before, so it’s never a battle.
“If he plays, he scores, you know what he’s like. So, if I play, I do my bit. Me, Jamie, Patson (Daka), it’s never a battle, we are happy with where we are at the moment
