Former Chelsea player, Tony Cascarino has expressed concerns over Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof’s recent performance for the Red Devils.
Man United suffered their fourth Premier League defeat this season after losing 1-0 at home to Crystal Palace over the weekend.
Lindelof’s failure to mark Joachim Andersen during a corner situation led to the game’s decisive goal.
However, Cascarino, who was not impressed with the player’s display, urged him to do better for Erik ten Hag’s side going forward.
Speaking on the Weekend Sports Breakfast, Cascarino said (via GOAL): “We talked about the goal. I said the goal by Andersen was a great goal. Lindelof has been, I’d say, probably the third choice [for Manchester United].
“Obviously, Martinez, before he got injured, and Varane were the choice, but he’s going to be called on a lot this season.”
“He’s got to be a better defender, he has got away with being… people go after [Harry] Maguire, Lindelof has got off scot-free.
“There have been a number of games I have watched Lindelof where I have felt, ‘Do you know what? You have not covered yourself in glory there’, and yesterday was one of them, definitely for the goal.”
