Explosion have reportedly killed 5 soldiers of the Joint Border Forces of Nigeria and Cameroon near Ikang waterways in Bakassi Peninsula, Igbere TV has learnt.
According to reports, militants suspected to be Black Marine drove with two speed boats exchanging fire with Joint Border Forces when they threw IED on security personnel’s at the maritime border checkpoints.
The incidence took place on Thursday morning at 9am.
It was gathered that the militant groups operated from two angles, one boat coming from Akwa Ibom axis engaged Joint Border Forces in a shootout, an hour later the other group coming from Isangele threw IED on Cameroonian Forces attempting to blow a vessel awaiting it’s turn to be filled with oil.
Two separatist militants were injured during exchange of gunfire.
Meanwhile, authorities in Cameroon have declared operational coordinator of Biafra Nations League, BnL, Henry Edet wanted, recall that Edet escaped from detention in Bakassi Peninsula after an explosion rocked the Cameroonian Police station few months ago.
