Two suspects were detained by the Jigawa State Police Command for allegedly stealing two goats worth N50,000 in the state’s Kazaure Local Government Area.
The suspects, Ibrahim Alhassan and Bashir Babangida, were apprehended after a report by one Fatima Aminu that her goats had been stolen, according to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who made this disclosure in a statement on Friday, September 22, 2023.
The statement read, “On 18/9/2023, one Fatima Aminu ‘f’ 42yrs of Kanti Gaba’s quarters Kazaure LGA, reported that on 17/9/23 at about 1100hrs she discovered that unknown thieves stole her two goats valued at fifty thousand naira (N50,000.00k),”.
“Upon receiving the report, detectives attached to Kazaure Police station acted on reliable information and arrested one Ibrahim Alhassan “m” 20yrs and Bashir Babangida “m” 19yrs, both of Ganguli quarters in Kazaure LGA, who conspired, stole the said goats, and transported them to Danbatta Market, Danbatta LGA, Kano state to dispose of them,”.
The suspects confessed to the crime during questioning and gave a confessional statement.
The arrested suspects will appear in court for an arraignment and be subject to the full force of the law.
