Yobe State Government has called for the sustenance of collaborative efforts with Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund.
Governor Mai Mala Buni made the demand in Damaturu on Thursday when officials of the TETFund paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
The Governor was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali.
A statement issued by the Press Secretary to the SSG, Shuaibu Abdullahi indicated that the Governor commended TETFund for assisting state-owned tertiary institutions through the provision of facilities and the training of manpower.
Buni said the intervention projects from the Fund had been of invaluable assistance in the quest to enhance the standard of learning in the State’s institutions.
According to him, the State Government had been doing its best in providing the needed facilities and granting scholarships, adding that “the complementary role of TETFund in that direction, is commendable”.
Buni called for the sustenance of the collaborative efforts with a view to uplifting the education sector in the State.
In his remarks, leader of the TETFund team, Dr Yusuf Ibrahim Gamawa said they were in the State on an assessment tour of the State College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Gujba.
He stated that there were operational guidelines covering the activities of the Fund, with stipulated requirements to be met for institutions to qualify for TETFund intervention
