Mohbad was never detained or arrested by us.- NDLEA insist

According to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s (NDLEA) spokesperson, the organization never detained or arrested the late singer Mohbad.

The anti-drug agency raided the Idado estate residence of artists signed to the Marlian label in February 2022, and six people were taken into custody, including Zinolesky and Mohbad.

Cannabis sativa and Molly were found in the apartment and a car, according to the agency at the time.

The agency was accused of poisoning Mohbad during the alleged “arrest” earlier today after a video of him lying in a hospital bed complaining of being accused of drug abuse and coerced into drinking a substance from a bottle surfaced online.

Some Nigerians claimed the late singer may have been poisoned by NDLEA agents during the fictitious “arrest.”.

On Saturday, September 16, Babafemi claimed that Mohbad was never arrested in a post that was published on his X account. He forwarded a news article in which a source within the organization listed the names of those who had been detained, but Mohbad’s name was omitted.

This is an authentic account of the arrest and detention of some Malian artists in February 2022, an incident that has since been distorted by purveyors of false information to claim Mohbad was poisoned while in the custody of @ndlea_nigeria, even though he was never taken into custody by the organization.

When the law comes down on them, I hope they’ll have the guts to stand up for their rights, Babafemi wrote.

According to a source within the agency, none of the six suspects who had been detained at the time, including Mohbad, real name Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, were listed.

The names of the suspects who were detained at the time were provided by the source as;.
