Three LP Reps from Abia are fired by the tribunal.

The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, located in Umuahia, has expelled three Labour Party (LP) members of the House of Representatives, Ibe Okwara Osonwa, Emeka Nnamani, and Munachim Alozie, from the National Assembly.

After the tribunal agreed with the petitioners’ arguments, they were expelled on Monday, September 11.

The tribunal, presided over by Justice Adeyinka Adegberegbe, decided that Daniel Chimezie Okeke, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), was able to prove his petition that the election of Osonwa did not follow the law.

Osonwa represents Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency on the platform of LP.

The tribunal found that the election of Osonwa did not comply with the rule of law.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was ordered to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Ibe Okwara Osonwa and issue a new one to Daniel Chimezie Okeke of the APC.

The tribunal subsequently declared the APC candidate to be the victor.

Alex Mascot of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) was proclaimed the victor, and Emeka Nnamani, the member representing the Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency, was expelled from the Green Chambers.

The tribunal’s decision was in accordance with the petition Alex Mascot of the APGA had submitted, in which the petitioner had questioned Emeka Nnamani’s academic credentials.

The election tribunal declared the victory of Labour Party (LP) candidate Munachim Alozie in the Osisioma/Obingwa/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency invalid and ruled that INEC must hold a new election within 90 days.

The tribunal determined that Munachim Alozie’s margin of victory was too small when compared to the total number of voters who were denied the right to vote on February 25.
