Issa Muhammed, a 22-year-old car wash attendant, was detained by police officers from the Police Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos for allegedly stealing a customer’s car.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 12, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokeswoman for the Lagos police command, confirmed the arrest.
Issa was detained after he stole a 2012 Toyota Camry that was given to him in the Isheri neighborhood of Lagos for cleaning.

“The suspect was apprehended on Sunday in Lagos State’s Agege neighborhood where he had parked the vehicle to meet with a buyer.
According to preliminary investigations, the owner had given the suspect the car three hours earlier in anticipation of a family outing later that afternoon.
“Muhammed, who had started working at the car wash three days prior to the incident, had taken off the car’s license plate and thrown away all identifications that might have connected it to its owner as soon as he arrived at Agege.

After an investigation, the case will be brought before the court.
