The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung has condemned the burning to death of a seminarian, Na’aman Ngofe Danladi in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
DAILY POST recalls that bandits on Thursday evening, invaded the residence of a Catholic Priest, Rev Fr Emmanuel Okolo, and burnt the entire rectory, alongside a seminarian who has a month to complete his studies.
Senator Katung, while reacting on Saturday, said it was sad that evil had once again visited the peaceful community.
“I unequivocally condemn this horrific terrorist attack that claimed the life of our young seminarian.
“Terrorism and violence against innocent citizens should never be justified nor be a part of our daily happenings,” he said.
According to him, such a cowardly and callous attack on peace loving communities must not be allowed to continue.
“My thoughts are with the victims’ families, friends, and the entire catholic community in Kaduna South Senatorial District and the entire State. I stand with the people of Fadan Kamantan Kurama community and the Catholic Diocese at this tragic and difficult time,” he added.
He said the resurgence of terrorism on the Kaduna-Kachia Road by bandits is a direct affront on the federal government and in particular the security agencies.
He appealed to the security agencies to carry out a one-month intensive operation on the forest around Southern Kaduna to degrade the bandits and kidnappers.
“Anybody found to be aiding and abetting criminality shouldn’t be spared,” he declared
