The National and State Houses of Assembly Election Tribunal, located in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, has upheld Senator Ned Nwoko of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the Delta North Senatorial Election held on February 25, 2023.
The petition submitted by Ken Kanmma of the Labour Party (LP) was denied by a three-person panel under the direction of Justice Catherine Ogunsola for lack of merit.
They decided that the petitioner had failed to prove his case because he was unable to present the tribunal with any pertinent documents to back up the allegations of non-compliance made in the petition.
The All Progressive Congress (APC)’s petition against Ned Nwoko was also denied by the tribunal.
It was submitted by Senator Peter Nwaoboshi. The Tribunal dismissed the petition and assessed the petitioner with costs of N500,000.
