A woman named Patience Solomon has been detained by the Plateau State Police Command for kidnapping a 10-month-old baby belonging to a neighbor in Jos and fleeing to the Lagos State neighborhood of Ikorodu.
Remember that on Friday, July 21, 2023, LIB reported that the suspect fled with the child in the Angwan Rukuba neighborhood of Jos.
On Monday, September 4, 2023, the woman was paraded by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Julius Alawari, along with 25 other suspects detained for various crimes in the state.
The mother of two insisted that she turned herself in after realizing it was wrong to leave Jos in charge of the child she claims to “love very much.”.
“When I left with the child, I didn’t mean any harm.
I’m friends with the baby’s mother, and I adore the little one so much.
She said, “I had to go with the baby but I didn’t tell the mother because I knew she wouldn’t agree.
“While in Lagos, I frequently called, chatted, or held video calls with the mother to let her know how the child was doing, but after social media users claimed that I had stolen the child, I had to go to the police in Lagos for advice.
When I got to Jos, the police here picked me up at the park.
I returned on my own; I wasn’t detained.

The mother of the infant, who was spotted at the State Police headquarters cuddling her child, expressed happiness at being reunited with her child.
We share a building and work in the same place. She has been playing with the baby, but she didn’t let me know when she left with her.
She refused to give my baby back when I insisted on it, saying that she just wanted to stay with the child. She looked after the child, but I did not let her accompany her, and I am glad to have my child back.
