A faction of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, headed by Okechukwu Isiguzoro, on Sunday, claimed Nigeria would not experience military incursion if the North does not sanction it.
The group made the claim while cautioning President Bola Tinubu of the dangers ahead.
Ohanaeze warned Tinubu that the recent coup waves in some Francophone African countries are warnings over the continuous declarations of fraudulent election results in Africa, bad governments, lack of respect for the constitution by political elites, and the imposition of geriatric African Presidents by the West.
A statement by factional Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said the “Northern leadership and political leaders are dissatisfied with Tinubu’s Presidency and are waiting patiently for the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal verdict on September 16th, 2023, to know their line of action.
Isiguzoro alleged, ”the Northern leadership shut down President Tinubu’s led ECOWAS planned invasion of Niger Republic through the Northern Senators, the traditional rulers, and their elder statesmen who are unhappy with the President’s style of leadership and key appointments to Southwest.”
Ohanaeze also praised the Nigerian Military for their total allegiance to Tinubu and their continuous vows to continue to safeguard and uphold Nigerian Democracy
