EPL: In-form Awoniyi targets African goals record

Taiwo Awoniyi will be looking to achieve a significant milestone when Nottingham Forest take on Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday (today).

Should Awoniyi find the back of the net against the Blues, he will enter the history books as the first African player to score in eight consecutive Premier League games.

The 26-year-old equaled the previous record set by Emmanuel Adebayor and Mohamed Salah by scoring for the seventh consecutive game following his second minute strike against Manchester United last weekend.

Nottingham Forest threw away a two-goal lead to lose the game 3-2.

The Nigeria international has also scored nine goals in his last seven Premier League games.

The forward scored a brace when Forest visited the Stamford Bridge in May
